HEALTH & FITNESS PROGRAMME
 
Have you noticed that every day in the news and on TV there are ever increasing messages about healthy eating, doing more exercise, taking better care of yourself. And yet, after cancer and coronary problems, obesity is becoming the third largest health problem in the Western world.
 
 
It´s not hard to work out why! Despite all of the new products making it easy to lose weight, etc.. there is only one magic bullet - your own determination and will power, supported by good information and appropriate support.
 
That´s what our Health & Fitness Programme is about - good information and appropriate support.
 
It centres on the following key themes:
 
 

 

GOOD INFORMATION
 
1. Personalised Questionnaire  -   based upon a 2 page questionnaire you complete
                                                 about yourself you will receive a four page
                                                 response detailing actions you can take on
                                                 nutrition and exercise that will fit into your
                                                 lifestyle to help you achieve your goals
 
 
2. Body Composition                   -  body composition monitors are designed for
                                                healthier living by giving you an insight into key
                                                health indicators that will help you monitor
                                                changes that will enhance your lifestyle
                                        
                                                * see the impact of a change in nutrition on the
                                                   body; 
                                                * fine tune your fitness programme and understand
                                                   the importance ofmuscle mass;
                                                * monitor visceral fat, a key indicator of the risk of
                                                   heart disease;
                                                * set targets for your physique and monitor
                                                   progress towards it.
 
3. Body Composition Monitor     -  the monitor we use will provide information on:
 
                                             * body fat %
                                            (the amount of body fat as a % of your body weight);
 
                                              * body water %
                                            (amount of fluid in your body as a % of total weight);
 
                                              * level of visceral fat
                                            (fat surrounding the vital organs internally);
 
                                              * muscle mass
                                            (the weight of muscle in your body);
 
                                              * bone mass
                                             (the bone mineral level, calcium, other minerals)
 
                                              * basal metabolic rate
                                             (how efficiently your body works at rest).
 
 
APPROPRIATE SUPPORT           
 
1. One to One                               
                                                        - it is very difficult to make changes by yourself.
                                               You´ll have those people around you not so
                                               committed. You know - "Oh, go on, a few chips
                                               won´t hurt you"; "Just one more drink, after all
                                               you´re not driving!"
                                                            
                                             -  we offer both support and challenge. Sometimes
                                                we need to hear what we don´t want to say to
                                                ourselves- but it needs to be voiced!
 
                                             -  we provide:
 
                                                 * one-to-one conversations by phone or face to
                                                    face   
                                                 * on-line advice if you have the internet
                                                 * information sheets
 
2. Regular Actions                       -  we encourage you to have regular "check-ins"
                                                every 4-5 weeks
 
                                                        -   if you attend our fitness workshops we help you get
                                                the best from them, otherwise we advise on other
                                                activities that will support your fitness goals.
 
 
 
All of the above is complementary if you attend at least 2 classes per week. You can also take advantage of this comprehensive health programme, without attending our classes, through contacting us by phone or email.
